Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use emmasithole.co.uk, join my emails, take my quiz, contact me or work with me, and what I do with it. I've kept it in plain English. If anything is unclear, just ask.

Who I am

I'm Emma Sithole, a love coach based in Scotland. I'm responsible for your personal information (the "data controller").

Email: hello@emmasithole.co.uk

What I collect

When you join my emails or take my quiz: your first name, your email address and, for the quiz, which result you got. Your individual answers are not saved.

When you fill in my contact form or book a connection call: your name, email address and anything you choose to tell me.

When you buy from me: your name, email address, billing address and order details. Payments are handled securely by my payment provider through Squarespace. I never see or store your full card details.

When we work together: the notes I make from our sessions, and anything you share with me by email, Zoom or WhatsApp. Coaching conversations can include personal and sensitive things, such as your health, relationships or sex life. I only use this to coach you, and I handle it with extra care.

When you visit my website: basic technical information, such as your device, browser and the pages you visit, collected through cookies (see below).

How I use it, and why I'm allowed to

To send you my emails and quiz results, because you asked for them (consent). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.

To reply to your messages and arrange calls, because you asked me to (legitimate interests, or steps before a contract).

To deliver coaching and take payment, because we have a contract.

To handle sensitive information you share in coaching, because you have given me your explicit consent. You can withdraw this at any time, though I may then not be able to keep coaching you.

To keep business and tax records, because the law requires it (legal obligation).

To understand how my website is used and improve it (legitimate interests).

I will never sell your information, and I don't use it for anything you wouldn't reasonably expect.

Who I share it with

I use a small number of trusted services to run my business. They only process your information on my instructions:

- Kit (ConvertKit), for my email list and quiz results

- Squarespace, for my website, forms and online shop

- My payment provider (through Squarespace), for taking payments

- Zoom, for coaching and connection calls

- WhatsApp, for support between sessions, if you choose to use it

- Google, for email and secure document storage

I'll only share your information with anyone else if the law requires it.

Information stored outside the UK

Some of these services store information outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long I keep it

Email list: until you unsubscribe.

Enquiries that don't lead to working together: up to 12 months.

Client records and session notes: for as long as we work together, then up to 12 months afterwards, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.

Payment and business records: 6 years, as required for tax.

You have the right to:

- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you

- ask me to correct anything that's wrong

- ask me to delete your information

- object to, or ask me to limit, how I use it

- withdraw your consent at any time

- ask me to transfer your information to someone else

To use any of these rights, email hello@emmasithole.co.uk. I'll reply within one month.

Cookies

My website uses cookies to make it work properly and to understand how it's used. Squarespace sets these on my behalf. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the cookie banner, and change your mind at any time in your browser settings.

Children

My website, emails and coaching are for adults aged 18 and over. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please talk to me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
