For the woman who doesn’t want to waste this year.

In my last newsletters, I’ve spoken about finding your why, and I shared an exercise that helped me to uncover mine, the 7 levels deep exercise. For those who tried it, I hope it was useful. If it didn’t quite land, I’d encourage you to keep trying, without pressure and without force, until it does. It’s taken me a while to really get to the depth of my why, and now that I have it, it feels so strong and compelling.

I also shared in my last letter the importance of rest. Taking time for yourself to unwind and relax, and really understanding what rest means for you and what you are needing a rest from. The festive season can be hectic and put us under a lot of pressure, so hopefully January has welcomed a slightly slower pace and a little more rest.

We are now nearing the end of the month, the first month of 2026, and so in this week’s letter I want to look at setting goals. We are moving into month two, the month of love, and time is already passing quickly. I want to encourage you, my dear readers, to make this year count and, if you haven’t already, to set yourself some goals.

I encourage you to map out your year and look at what you want to achieve. What are the major goals you have for this year? Have you thought about them? Have you written them down?

A study conducted by Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at Dominican University in California, found that writing goals down made participants 42% more likely to achieve them.

That is a big increase in success, just by putting pen to paper.

Writing goals down and keeping them at the forefront of your mind, reviewing them regularly, reading them, or rewriting them really helps too. I know myself, I’ve had loads of goals I’ve written down once and never gone back to. It’s the ones I have a really compelling why for, and keep close to me, that actually come into play.

For me this year, my goals fall into three areas: family, finance, and health. I am focused on

  1. pouring into my family and my new daughter,

  2. increasing our savings, and

  3. getting into great shape once again.

These three areas are my main focus for 2026. I have little personal goals here and there too, but these are my anchors for the year.

Have you set some goals already for this year? If not, I encourage you to make that commitment to yourself and your future. Set your goals, write them down, and return to them often so they truly stick.

Let’s make 2026 a great year and really make it count.

💛 Emma
